Supporting WSU Jefferson County Master Gardeners to provide research-based horticultural information

The Jefferson County Master Gardener Foundation is a nonprofit organization in a collaborative agreement with WSU Jefferson County Extension. The Foundation provides support services and financial assistance to further WSU Extension’s mission in educating the community with sustainable, research-based horticultural information. The Foundation also provides financial grants to community organizations engaged in agriculture and sustainability efforts in Jefferson County.

Secret Garden Tour on June 21

Come check out the five varied and beautiful gardens that we’ve selected for this year’s Secret Garden Tour! Tickets go on sale on May 9!

Presentation: “The Simple and Ancient Art of Bonsai”

WHEN: May 8, 2025, 3–4 p.m. WHERE: WSU Extension Classroom, Kivley Center, 97 Oak Bay Rd, Port Hadlock

Bonsai artist Chris Bates will talk about basic bonsai tools and pot styles as well as demonstrate wiring and pruning techniques on a tree in progress. Come be inspired by examples from his collection while learning about this ancient Japanese art form that mimics nature on a small scale.
