Meet the Board of Directors for Our Foundation

The Jefferson County Master Gardener Foundation is a nonprofit organization in a collaborative agreement with WSU Extension, and is composed of certified Master Gardeners. The purpose of the organization is to further the mission of WSU Extension in educating the community with research-based horticultural information. The organization also enriches its membership through continuing education and fellowship.

Board Overview:
The Board has nine voting members: four officers and five members-at-large. One member, non-voting, is an intern chosen from the current Master Gardener class after completion of the course to serve until the end of the calendar year.
Board Meetings are scheduled on the first Thursday of each month. They are open to all Jefferson County Master Gardeners.
Foundation meetings are scheduled on the second Thursday of each month. The first hour features a speaker and is open to the public.

Standing Committees and Leadership Teams:
Standing Committees of the Foundation are appointed by the Board for an indefinite time. Committees are appointed for a specific task with a specified time to completion.
The Foundation’s Standing Committees: Grants, Demo Park, Plant Sale, Sunshine, Yard and Garden, Secret Gardens Tour, and Website.
Special or Ad Hoc committees form for a limited period. They may repeat annually to achieve a limited goal (e.g., handbook review, financial audit, nominating committee), or may be formed when a special need or interest is identified (e.g., feasibility studies, strategic planning, etc.).
How to Get Involved with Foundation Leadership
Committee Membership: Foundation members do not have to be a member of the Board to serve on Committees. If you are looking for a way to volunteer and contribute to the Foundation and one of these committees matches your experience, expertise, or interests, please contact the Foundation Chair, TBD@
